Summary report of Pupil Premium support and intervention
Since the academic year 2011-2012, the government has allocated a pupil premium grant to every school. Ivingswood Academy receives this grant in instalments. It is in addition to the school main budget and is calculated according to the number of children who are receiving free school meals (or those who have received them within the last six years) as well as ‘looked after’ children.
Support and interventions are put in place on an individual basis, according to need. Provision arrangements are such that each pupil may have access to more than one intervention at any time. The grant may also be used to: subsidise trips, residential visits and extra-curricular clubs or to provide additional resources to enhance learning.
In the academic year 2015-2016, the school will receive a total of £89,760. Provision of support will be regularly evaluated by the staff and governors of the school, to ensure that pupils who are eligible receive support appropriate to their needs, enabling them to access the curriculum and progress academically.
